Social Studies (Hooper): Explorers

Reading: using RACE and UNRAAVEL to answer comprehension questions, begin class book study Hope’s American Revolutionary War Diary

Math: multiplication/ division review and assessment

Language Arts: practice verbs, review nouns, begin adverbs and pronouns   

Writing: Informational- how is informational different than narrative—finish spider papers, practice extended constructed response

Parents,

As we gear up for the next 3 ½ weeks before our next break, we will be going quickly. Within that time frame, we will be doing another Mock Writing (informational) along with Middle of the Year TRC (reading level) updates, Middle of the Year DIBELS (fluency), and Middle of the Year MAP testing. While trying to finish curriculum for this term. It is imperative that your child be at school if at all possible (I realize life does happen J ). Please keep an eye open for email blasts and REMIND notifications because those are the quickest ways for me to get you information. Please note that Wednesday, December 20 is an EARLY RELEASE DAY. We have not had one in a LOOOOOONG time. Our class will have a Winter Celebration Breakfast that morning (info to come) along with playing some games before having a sack lunch and dismissing. We are getting ready to begin a wonderful book, Hope’s American Revolutionary War Diary, which goes along well with our colonial unit students will begin talking about after explorers. We will be making a surprise for students to take home. Please holler at me at any time if you have questions or concerns!
